HyDrone USV

The HyDrone ASV is a lightweight, unmanned survey vessel designed for hydrographic survey applications. Used in conjunction with the HydroLite portable echosounder kit, this highly economical catamaran platform delivers the same results as more expensive remotely operated survey systems.

Transport and deployment

The HyDrone is single-person portable, allowing easy access to remote and hazardous areas such as mines, sewage treatment plants, contaminated lakes, harbours and rivers. It’s built from the highest quality marine grade materials and can be easily disassembled for transport and shipping.

Semi-autonomous and remote control

Control of the HyDrone is very simple using a long range remote control unit (RCU). The range of the HyDrone USV is up to 1km. It’s easy to manoeuvre thanks to the powerful differential thrusters. With two batteries installed, the hydrographic surveyor has an endurance of 8 hours at survey speed.

Software Compatibility

The HyDrone UPS is compatible with a wide range of hydrographic survey software from brands such as Stonex, Hypack, Carlson, EPOCH, Leica, Sokkia, Topcon and Trimble.

Customisation

The desired echosounder can be pre-installed or the HyDrone can be supplied ready to accept existing equipment from the user’s survey pool. The HyDrone can be fitted with single beam, multibeam, sidescan sonar systems and ADCP’s.
